Ivan Amato
Ivan Amato is an award-winning science and technology writer, editor and communicator. His work has appeared in many venues, among them Time, Fortune, Washington Post, Technology Review, Discover, Quanta, Nautilus, Knowable, Photonics Focus, IEEE Spectrum and Scientific American. He has been a staff writer and editor for Science News, Science and C&E News; a founder of science cafes on both coasts; and a writer of books about the invention of new materials throughout history, science imagery and the history of technology.

He is the creator of the ongoing Voices from DARPA podcast, a chronicle of innovation at the storied Defense Advanced Research Agency. He is a producer for the performance-based Climate Parables series, which envisions solutions to our climate crisis. Currently, he is splitting his time on a book about a Cold War spy-satellite program, the performance-based Climate Parables series and his crystal photomicrography work that celebrates the beauty to be found on microscopic scales.
