Ninad R. Bondre, PhD.
Ninad Bondre is Senior Editor (Sustainability Science and Initiatives) at Cell Press, which publishes over 50 journals across the life, physical, earth, and health sciences. After obtaining his master’s degree in India, Ninad pursued doctoral research in volcanology at Miami University (Ohio) and was awarded a PhD in 2006. Since then, he has held editorial and advisory positions with diverse private- and public-sector employers including Springer Nature, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, Elevate Scientific, and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. Ninad has worked closely with the scientific community in diverse contexts, thereby gaining a deep understanding of the funding, conduct, evaluation, and communication of research. His interests span a wide range of topics beyond the geosciences including philosophy, geopolitics, and economics, and he has written authoritatively on issues such as climate communication, post-truth, and the Anthropocene.
