John Rennie

John Rennie is the editorial director of AccessScience, McGraw-Hill Education’s award-winning online science encyclopedia. For more than three decades he has worked as a science editor, journalist, and lecturer, including 15 years as editor in chief of Scientific American. He also appeared on The Weather Channel as the host of the 2013 television series Hacking The Planet. Among the professional honors he has received are the Sagan Award for Public Understanding of Science, bestowed by the Council of Scientific Society Presidents, and the Potomac Institute’s Navigator Award for distinguished service in support of national science and technology policy.
