On February 2, 2017, the Professional and Scholarly Publishing (PSP) Division of the Association of American Publishers (AAP) presented the 2017 R.R. Hawkins Award, the top PROSE prize, and the five PROSE Awards for Excellence at a special luncheon ceremony held during the PSP Annual Conference in Washington, DC. The 2017 R.R. Hawkins Award was presented to Yale University Press for Reformations: The Early Modern World, 1450-1650 by Carlos M.N. Eire.
The 2017 PROSE Awards luncheon was webcast live to audiences across the globe, and featured the debut of Aldon Morris: The Scholar Affirmed, an original short film about the 2016 R.R. Hawkins Award winner, as well as several multimedia presentations highlighting winners past and present. PROSE thanks Cenveo Publisher Services for their sponsorship of the 2017 luncheon.
The winning PROSE entries were on display after the luncheon. All entries will be donated to Medgar Evers College Library in Brooklyn, New York, and The American University in Cairo Library in Cairo, Egypt.
